Why We Exist
It’s how people knew me. Then in early 2025, the LA fires took our home and most of what was in it, including the wardrobe I’d built my identity around.
I had to rebuild from nothing. Not just clothes: the sense of who I was when I looked in the mirror.
That process changed how I work. I already understood this industry from the inside. Before I started professionally styling in 2013, I worked in fashion tech, watching how badly retail served the people it claimed to dress: algorithms that flattened you into a category, subscription boxes that guessed instead of listened, stores built to sell volume, not to understand a person. I knew there was a better way, and I built AC Styles around it.
But losing everything taught me something the fashion tech years hadn’t. My clients aren’t just changing outfits. They’re closing boardroom deals worth millions and pumping breast milk in an airport lounge before their next flight. They’re rebuilding after a blindsided divorce, walking into a boardroom 40 pounds lighter, starting over in a new city for a role they fought years to earn, or stepping into a leadership seat that sacrificed a lot to earn. Whatever they’re carrying personally, the seat at the table was never an accident. They want a wardrobe that stops underselling them.
I know what that gap feels like. I also know what it costs professionally when the image you present doesn’t match the reputation you’re trying to build. That’s the part most stylists miss. They know fabric and fit. I know what it’s like to sit across from someone whose livelihood depends on how the room reads them in the first ten seconds, because I’ve built businesses in those rooms myself.
